About Me
My Story

I was a young teen, sitting in the ER with a crunched clavicle when I realized the difference between a good nurse and a bad nurse. Between this realization and my mom’s nurse stories at the dinner table, I knew I wanted to go into healthcare. Fast forward to college, I excelled in my nursing studies and loved my journey the whole way. I knew straight away that my passion was in Women’s Health but at the time, it was nearly impossible to be accepted onto an OB floor at the hospital without OB experience. So while I worked Tele, I cried and plotted how to pave my way onto the Mom Baby floor. With a little magic and patience, a new per diam day shift position opened up for me and I never looked back.
15 years later, travelling the Oregon trail out west to a new city and hospital, birthing 2 beautiful daughters accompanied by 2 equally powerful births, I began to find myself and my passion in new ways and deeper levels. I started growing my own herbs for medicine, seeing an Ayurvedic practitioner for my own health, and pursuing knowledge about holistically supporting women in postpartum. Even though I always leaned toward the natural path, I never planned on leaving my traditional hospital. But, when my safe spaces cracked and policies and upper management started working against the people, I couldn’t bear the status quo and realized it was time for a drastic change. This shift enabled me to realize my core values and embrace the change to pursue my own deeply held passions.
I was introduced to the idea of postpartum doula-ing through a co-worker and I began to investigate. Between my own challenges during postpartum and the stories of my closest friends and family, I knew that providing nourishing help and support during this time was invaluable. I had been leaning into Ayurvedic ways for a while now and felt that this information was so powerful for life, especially during the Vata imbalance of postpartum. I received my Postpartum doula certification through Childbirth International and then received an Ayurvedic postpartum doula certification through Ayurvedic Mamas. I strongly believe that we need more emotional and physical nourishment and rest and grace in the 6 weeks postpartum (longer if possible!). I feel so much gratitude to be able to help support this expanding, vulnerable space for my clients and their new babies. Why Choose Me ?
My Commitment
I vow to begin our experience with honesty and clarity about my services and what to expect- as much as I'm able. I will do my best to protect our individual energies before and after visits as well. I will bring my full attention and prepare in ways that help us to have the most valuable use of our time together. I will share my knowledge and expertise in a supportive way that hopefully nourishes you and doesn't bring more stress. My goal is to lighten your load and bring you rest.

Experience
I began my women's health journey as a Postpartum Nurse working in the hospital. I always had a more holistic sway than mainstream, but I loved the opportunity to learn about birth and postpartum, supporting women and babies and about myself. I worked as a bedside RN for 16 years (14 years in OB- delivery and postpartum and newborn nursery) till I decided to move to the home environment and support families as an Ayurvedic Postpartum doula during their fresh weeks of postpartum. I'm new in this role but not new in the knowledge. Excited to continue growing!

Uniqueness
Ayurveda
What makes me different than another postpartum doula (besides my significant Maternal Newborn Nursing experience) is my personal and trained experience in Ayurvedic support. I have an Ayurvedic postpartum doula certification, have been long time educated by my own Ayurvedic practitioner and Aryuvedic guides, and am choosing continual learning to strengthen my trade. Besides traditional doula work, I also offer Benkung Belly Binding, Ayurvedic meal prep/cooking, breathwork practice and hope to begin offering Sacred Closing of the Bones ceremonies for women (at any stage postpartum- even 20 years!).
