You deserve to feel nourished and well supported during this passage into motherhood.
Rested Nest is here to help
Let me take the load off your household's shoulders. As a postpartum doula serving Westminster, Boulder, and the surrounding Front Range, I bring 15 years of Mother Baby nursing experience and Ayurvedic postpartum care straight to your home.
Hey, I'm Christina
your Nurse Turned Doula
My path into healthcare began long before nursing school. I struggled with difficult gut health from early childhood, and after breaking my collarbone in high school, I experienced firsthand the difference between simply receiving care and feeling truly cared for. Between that experience and my mom’s nursing stories around the dinner table, I knew I wanted to become one of the “good” ones in healthcare.
That calling carried me through nursing school, where I met my husband, a move out west for a fresh start, the births of our two beautiful daughters, and my own continued journey toward healing. For 15 years, I worked on Mother Baby hospital units, caring for thousands of new mothers and babies. I also spent years in Labor & Delivery as the baby nurse and supporting families in the NICU.
Along the way, I found an Ayurvedic practitioner who changed my gut health, my life, and the way I understood healing. Later, difficult changes within the hospital system encouraged me to seek a new way to care for mothers beyond their brief hospital stay. That path led me to postpartum doula work and additional certifications, including Ayurvedic postpartum care.
Today, I bring together 15 years of Mother Baby nursing, extensive experience in Labor & Delivery and the NICU, postpartum doula training, and my own personal journey through motherhood and holistic healing. This combination allows me to offer a depth of support that is difficult to find.
I believe these experiences have cultivated my ability to hold space for your postpartum healing with wisdom, grounding, and hands-on care. It is my great passion to nurture new mothers and babies as they move through this profound passage together.
Postpartum Doesn't Have to Be a Time We Fear
When I had my first baby, I thought I had it all figured out.
I had been working as a postpartum nurse for a year before I had my first daughter. I thought I knew everything by that point (youth, am I right?), and boy was I shocked. I remember standing at the stove cooking dinner three days out, feeling like my uterus was going to fall out of my body. Or not being able to stop myself from pooping my pants, well, that was a surprise (those giant postpartum pads are good for more than one thing). Then came the breastfeeding journey: cracked, bleeding nipples and a milk supply that never seemed to hold steady. It's a tough road.
I've been through it twice now, and I've supported hundreds of other women through it too.
Our society lacks a real understanding of nourishment and postpartum support.
I believe so strongly in this mission: to support your family through this vulnerable shift as you become new beings. Alongside other fellow doulas, I intend to change that, one family at a time.
